The Virginia Senate on Tuesday approved a watered down version of a bill to require women to have a ultrasound before an abortion. The measure passed largely on party lines, by a vote of 21-19. It now heads to the state’s senate where it must be approved before its signed into law.
The bill initially requires invasive transvaginal ultrasounds before an abortion, a controversial requirement that was dropped from the new legislation.
Good for them in this writer’s opinion. First, I am surprised that the tribune carried this out? They have been wishy-washy on issues and even backed Obama. I am glad to see someone doing something on this dangerous issue that goes against life and little children! Even if it takes the Old South to do it! They have the right idea.
