From the Chicago SunTimes Paper
A U.S. Appeals Court Thursday over turned a ruling that had found unconstitutional a law that required the president to proclaim a national day of prayer each year. The 7th U.S. Court Of Appeals in Chicago said the group that brought the challenge. The Freedom From Religion Foundation had no standing to do so because the law commands only the president to take action.
The court reversed a federal judge in Wisconsin and ordered the case to be dismissed. In the Opinion of the Catholic American good. It’s called freedom of religion. If you don’t want to pray or for that matter go to church, don’t. Please don’t push your opinions on the rest of us! Your hurting only yourself. Go to church!
Here is a good idea heard on the local news station in Chicago. Oil from Canada. Less in price, more jobs for Americans here at home. Why not? Do we have to fall all over the oil barons of the Middle East? Of course not. Get the oil for far less a price from ‘Our friends of the North’. We can in the mean time work on electric for cars and solar. GOOD BYE TO THE MIDDLE EAST! ( GOOD RIDDENS IS BETTER PUT.) This is a very good idea of the Catholic American. Hope it is put into action!

On another note, The Catholic American likes how Donald Trump handled the Obama birth cert. problem. He was the only person to call the so-called president to the carpet and force the issue. This while others stood back and waited to see what would happen. For that, The Catholic American endorses TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012!
#PRAY FOR THE SOUTH AFTER THAT STORM .

Worrycontinue as the earthquake in Japan and nuclear plant disaster continues, people in the United State worry about a similar problem here at home .Four of the Illinois reactors have the same design as in Fukushima . Those reactors are produced by General Electric Company . This from the Energy Institute, the U.S. Trade group for the industry. Could this happen here in America?
For U. S-based experts in nuclear energy, nuclear energy, the issues is can our plant hold up to an earthquake and a similar disaster. Most U.S. Reactors can hold up only a four-hour blackouts David Lochbaum a nuclear engineer. They also have check s to prevent a spill and have shutoffs to prevent a problem.
Chairman John Rowe said its plants are safe. ” Particularly given the different seismic patterns in our regions and the absence of tsunami type events. The company said its plant have numerous and redundant safety systems but would work with regulators to use lessons learned from Japan. He said. There are about years of track record of nuclear plants. People can look back and make their own judgements about.
This writer came across a top inspector with Exelon not too long ago and I asked him about this? He said that they have months expectations and drills to handle the problem in a professional manner. The plants have better construction also to hold up to the ever so earthquakes we get in the Mid-West . That is good to hear. Don’t need that here or anywere in the United States.

Today, congress will decide on ending the funding for the NPR ( National Public Radio.) What is your opinion? Should this happen. I feel that money being tight, we have to cut back someplace just as you or I would on stuff we can’t afford. Maybe NPR maybe able to get backing as a regular national network as CBS or NBC? I do believe that the freedom of speech apply however. They be more to the left but do have rights to have a say on matters of our nation. That is what our country is about.
Good to be back after a short vacation. Very interesting story I heard on The Glenn Beck Show today. The 8-28 Movement and who is behind this to “CHANGE AMERICA.” Not for the better I may add. Go to Glenn’s web page at www.glennbeck.com to see why. Then I ask you to do your own homework. Don’t take our word for it! Scary Stuff! Then make up your own mind. This writer believes you will agree. Scary once again.
If all goes well and a conservative majority happens, Republicans and conservative Democrats, look for the first action in congress to over rule National Health Care in February or March. In this writer’s opinion good. We can’t afford this and causes deep cut in Medicare and Social Security! They have to shore up the Social Security so it don’ t go out and cut out the many who depend on this !
Medicare will always be there to help those who need special care along with county health centers and Catholic Church for example. Abortion is also covered that I disagree on as a Catholic person. This is wrong and immoral to the Lord. Over turn is the way to go and not ruin the country we live in with something we can’t pay for or cover murder of innocent children who can’t fight for themselves!
Good story by MSN Anderson Copper on New Orleans today. Five years after Katrina. Hope, fears, and together by the good citizens in that city. Putting the City Of New Orleans back on the map as a great place to live and visit.
In this writer’s opinion, good for them. That was bad. Once again, this is a not a Third world country and we are better than that here! Not picking on Third world nations. See his story below and God Bless those going up against Earl. Hopefully, no damage or deaths.
