‘WHAT IS MADE IN THE U.S.A?”

Dear readers- Here’s a interesting piece I found in the PARADE SECTION from the Chicago Tribune Sunday. It’s in regards to products still made in the good old U.S.A! As a union person and a conservative Democrat, I believe we have to have more jobs here and Yes, people should have the rights to unionize if they wish to. Not let the problem grow and lost of jobs to foreign interests.

Even though the story states that China will soon be lead in manufacturing, our country still hold a 20% hold on out put in goods. Glad to see this and we need More in America and not LESS  to move the economy along!  They are as follows:

CHEMICAL PRODUCTS– 250 BILLION  IN 2007 UP FROM 174 BILLION IN 02. EMPLOYS 830,000 AMERICANS.

TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT -195 BILLION  IN 2007 FROM 189 BILLION IN 02. 1.4 MILLION JOBS.

FOOD PROCESS– 175 BILLION IN 2007 UP FROM 173 BILLION IN 2002. 1.7 MILLION JOBS.

DELTA AIRLINES – BRINGING BACK JOBS FROM INDIA.  IN CALL CENTER FOR EXAMPLE.

That is what we have to do. No to jobs going over seas for  cheap rates. we have to  place regulations or leave the NAFTA AGREEMENT, and giving business a tax credit for having jobs here.  In this writer’s opinion will create jobs that will create health insurance for people! Not a Socialist style system of health care!

I also don’t believe in taxing the wealthy either. They make risks we would not and that wealth goes from the top to bottom of our economy. This  is how our system works in America.  That is economy 101 to my liberal friends.

In this writer’s opinion. this story is good news. we need more in Chemicals, transportation, and food processing to create jobs. This includes Iron and the automotive and railroad  makers.

We cannot let  China take away in what is made in the United States and the jobs that go with them. That is dead wrong! This needs to be addressed now before its too late!
