‘Help Protect The EPA Standards’

Help the league Of Conservation  Voters protect the environmental Protection Agency from the continued push of big polluters and anti environment members of congress from ending  the EPA standards that we depend on everyday! Water, air, and land protection. This is something this writer feels strong about and hope its doses stay.

Started by Pres. Nixon in the early 1970′s this has started the push for better air and water from  corporations that took advantage of the law . Forgetting that we are God’s gate Keepers and have the duty to maintain what he gave to us.  Because of this, pollution was cut back that time  and I did see a change for the better compared to before with discolored air and wreaked waterways of oil and such!

This is nothing new of course. The natural parks idea started by Pres.Thomas Jefferson Later  Pres. U.S. Grant enacted the first park in 1871.  It was Pres. Theodore Roosevelt who enacted protection during the 1900′s against railroad barons and millionaires out to make a buck on the back of nature. He made many angry people but did what was  right thing to do.  Why we have to continue with EPA for example. Ask yourself? Do we want a place to see animals for example in nature livings or only a zoo?    See more at www.lcv.org  today.

‘PERSONHOOD BILL FAILS IN OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE.’

OKLAHOMA CITY-

A proposed  “personhood law in Oklahoma that would grant an embryos full rights as people from the moment of concepton failed in the state legislature on Thursday without coming to a vote in the Republican controlled house.

  The personhood Act passed in February in the senate and Republican Governor Mary Fallin have been expected to sign it. But it failed in committee where it sat.

   In this writer’s opinion, it’s hard to believe that this is an issue. In a federal level, it should be the states that should have the rights to choose abortion or not over all.  

  Given a reason why everyone has to do their homework and vote for the Republican candidate for president and get the vote to the states and not the federal government as  in Roe V Wade and other issues.  President Ronald Reagan was right when he said, ” Government isn’t the answer, but the problem.’

‘OBAMA AS T.R.? ARE YOU SERIOUS?’

 President Obama was in Kansas State giving an economy speech with the believe of the ” New Theodore Roosevelt ‘ with hopes people will take that seriously. Really? Lets see, T.R. was born in New York State, police commissioner, a war hero  during the Spanish-American  War, vice president, and President.  In a nut shell a true American who loved his country and God.

   Later a writer, traveler, hunter, and even put the country first not party going Bull Moose in 1912. He would have been elected president in 1920 if he hadn’t passed away in 1919.

  President Obama? I will stop here because I don’t want to be a person who talks bad of people. I will have to refrain myself from laughing as I add his profile. I can’t type and do that. Please! No match up here.

‘ONE STATE PERSONIFIES PERSONHOOD PUSH.’

 In Clarksdale Mississippi, Gail Giaramita is going door to door in general to announce a new bill or law, INITIATIVE 26. That is if you believe that the unborn are human beings, then vote yes. if you want to kill the unborn, vote no. That is that.

 For the pro-life side this could be the answer to over turning Roe V Wade in the United States by state rights. Proponents call this a scare tactic and would keep a woman from getting birth control and other help from clinics. Civil Libbers and other group vow to take it to that state highest court to be defeated.

 In this writer’s opinion, good for the state of Mississippi! For too long abortion has been going on and with the killing of the unborn! As a  Catholic, I seen pictures of what is done and I will not tell what they are here. ( see www. priestsforlife.org  for that.)  I will say that life doses start in the womb at an early stage and deserves to be brought into the world.

 I am glad that state has this on the table and that other states will follow suit such as my state of Illinois. Even our governor in due respect jumping on the band wagon by hosting a  pro abortions award dinner! 

 The pro-life forces even had to take the state to court over a pro-life  licence plate the state didn’t feel we should display. The governor, general assembly, and the heads of the dmv.  What gives? The bottom line is,  abortion is evil and has to be ended now!  Pray that this passes and the ball gets rolling so to speak.

‘ABORTION CURB SIGNED IN ALABAMA.’

CHICAGO TRIBUNE  JUNE 16, 2011

 

  Alabama Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday signed  into law a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, making it the fifth state to enact such a restriction this year. The law goes into effect September 1.  The measure which was approved by the large majorities in both chambers of the Republican controlled legislature, makes performing such procedures a felony, with no exceptions.

  Alabama law currently allows abortion up to  the stage of fetal viability usually up to the stages 24 to 26 weeks gestation.  Good for them! Too bad it the South who have the good ideas into action in this writer’s opinion!

‘NEW ABORTION CURBS SIGNED IN IDAHO AND KANSAS.’

CHICAGO TRIBUNE REPORT-

‘Idaho’s governor said Thursday he signed into law a measure banning abortions after 30 weeks of pregnancy, making Idaho the third state  to enact such a late-term abortion prohibition.  Governor Butch Otto, a Republican said he signed the bill Wednesday.

  The new law is modeled after a 2010 Nebraska law which has not been challenged in court. Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback signed a bill Wednesday banning abortions after 21 weeks in his  state.’

   As a Catholic and a Conservative Democrat, Good! Hope to see  this in Illinois. Although we have a parent notice before an abortion, it’s being challenged in court.  Judges using good sense to vote no on this one!

‘NATIONAL PRAYER DAY LAW OK, APPEALS COURT SAYS.’

   A U.S. Appeals Court Thursday over turned a ruling that had found unconstitutional a law that required the president to proclaim a national day of prayer each year. The  7th  U.S. Court Of Appeals in Chicago said the group that brought the challenge. The Freedom From Religion Foundation had no standing to do so because the law commands only the president to take action.

  The court reversed a federal judge in Wisconsin and ordered the case to be dismissed. In the Opinion of the Catholic American good. It’s called freedom of religion. If you don’t want to pray or for that matter go to church, don’t. Please don’t push your opinions  on the rest of us! Your hurting only yourself. Go to church!

‘PLANTS HERE SAFE, BUT YOU CAN’T MAKE DISASTERPROOF.’

 Worrycontinue as the earthquake in Japan and nuclear plant disaster continues, people in the United State worry about a similar problem here at home .Four of the Illinois reactors have the same design as in Fukushima . Those reactors are produced by General Electric  Company .  This from the Energy Institute, the U.S. Trade group for the industry.  Could this happen here in America?

  For U. S-based experts in nuclear energy, nuclear energy, the issues is can our plant hold up to an earthquake and a similar disaster. Most U.S. Reactors can hold up only a four-hour blackouts David Lochbaum a nuclear engineer. They also have check s to prevent a spill and have shutoffs to prevent  a problem.

 Chairman John Rowe said its plants are safe. ” Particularly given the different seismic patterns in our regions and the absence of tsunami type events. The company said its plant have numerous and redundant safety systems but would work with regulators to use lessons learned from Japan. He said. There are about  years of track record of nuclear plants. People can look back and make their own judgements about.

This writer came across a top inspector with Exelon not too long ago and I asked him about this? He said that they have months expectations and drills to handle the problem in a professional manner.  The plants have better construction also to hold up to the ever so earthquakes we get in the Mid-West . That is good to hear.  Don’t need that here or anywere in the United States.
